Course Overview
The Sports Leaders course is broken down into units that look at leadership skills through Sport. This course will allow you to improve your communication skills, develop your self-esteem and confidence and your ability to problem solve and manage others as part of a team. Through this course you will cover participation in sport, sports nutrition and leading and taking part in outdoor adventurous activities.
Through a range of practical and written work, the following questions will be answered:
- What skills and behaviours are important when leading a group of people?
- What are your leadership skills like before and after the course?
- How do you plan a successful session?
- What are different ways you can communicate?
- How can you motivate young people to take part in sport?
Coursework
Our Sports course is completely coursework-based and is made up of 3 mandatory units and 1 optional unit. Content ranges from participating in sports and outdoor adventurous activities, nutrition and influences on food choices and planning and leading sporting events. Coursework can be produced digitally through Word and PowerPoint or it can be demonstrated through witness statements, posters and practical assessments.
